Woolley’s Pool
The smallest of the Kalk Bay pools was Woolley’s, also built in 1912 by Charles
McGhie. In doing this the KB-MM responded to the request of William Thomas
Woolley, owner of nearby ‘Stepaside’ and ‘Wayside’, and others, to improve the bathing
pool. The task was a simple one of closing off a small gulley with a wall and constructing
some minor side-walls. (Fig. 1.67.) (The total cost of McGhie’s three pools – St James,
Bishop’s Pool and Woolley’s – was £642-2-6.)
