A story my father told me about the late Nicky Goles was that Nicky’s father would come
marching down to the harbour with Nicky in tow and tell my dad – “Anty, if this youngster
comes down to the harbour again to fish, just kick him under the ass and send him home”.
But nothing could keep Nicky away. After the war he bought the Me Too from a Mr.
Hammond but had to have the boat completely rebuilt at Snyders Boatbuilders of Bellville.
Me Too made it onto national TV in 1976 when a 5m Great White shark landed on the boat.
The shark was unfortunately killed and one can also read about the incident in the book
entitled Sharks of Southern Africa. I have been the owner of Me Too since 1986.
