Bay, in 1885. George Alexander was an active member of the Holy Trinity
Church and one of his projects was, in 1883, to design the Anglican Mission
School in Kalk Bay, known as Stonehaven though called ‘Die Klipskool’
by the shing community as it was built of local dressed quarry-stone. This
building, which had cost £1,560, lay opposite the Holy Trinity Church on
the sea side of Main Road. It was demolished in 1964 due to the high cost

of maintenance and is now a car park.
