Figs. 2.29 & 2.30: Dalebrook House, c. 1910. (RRW). Built in 1872 by the Humphreys
sisters and Alice Pocklington as their home that also served as a Cottage Hospital. At
right rear they built Douglas Cottage a home for orphans and destitute. DH later became
boarding house that in 1920 was destroyed by fire that started on the roof – perhaps
sparks from the kitchen chimney? Replaced by Innisfail Hotel that ran until 1970s.
Recently altered and rebuilt. Shark Centre (Rockorry 1920) built in former front garden.
