and two storey houses with front gardens running down to walls topped with wrought-
ironwork between columns. Many trees. In 1910 about 6 shops operating out of houses.
Main Road paved (gravel), and curbed and guttered on mountainside only (1906);
electricity introduced in 1907 after opening of KB-MM power station. No road traffic of
any kind.
Today DR Church the only extant historic building in this scene.
