obscure mix of residences and businesses. At right stoeps project over pavement with
columns on kerb-line. Road kerbed and guttered on both sides, and formal pavements;
more overhead electric lighting. (c. early 1920s). Becoming more urban in appearance.
Today still recognisably the same place. Traffic: 20,000 cars/day.
