Co. Enlarged 1923, 1926 and 1929. Bought in 1928 by Union Castle Co. as coastal
alternative to Mount Nelson for guests. Sold by UC in 1939. Continued as a hotel until the
1970s, and then as a home for aged and infirm.
From 2002 – 06, together with New King’s Hotel, and rest of site, redeveloped by Argyle
Dev Corp retaining original appearance and features; dressed stone Main Road boundary
wall and entrance extant.
