Figs. 2.49 & 2.50: King’s Hotel c. 1882 (RRW): This substantial hotel replaced smaller
King’s Hotel & General Store built around 1870. In 1929 William Hood Grant designed
the 35-room Art Deco style. New King’s Hotel for owners SA Breweries. On Windsor
Road corner was a bar frequented by boat owners and skippers.
From 2002 – 06 redeveloped as part of the Majestic Village with individual units for
private ownership. Whole complex earned SAPOA award of Excellence in 2008.
