Dennis Leonard Langton 15854 v

Dennis Langton was born in Qwaniga in Transkei and was one of three brothers. He went
to school at Wynberg Boys High leaving there in standard 8. He was a keen sportsman and
member of the Wynberg Association Club, and he was the 1938 Club Champion at
Westlake Golf Club. When war came he enlisted in the SA Engineers Corps and attained
the rank of Captain. In November 1943 he died at Spitzkop Camp, Transvaal, of a coronary
thrombosis and acute heart failure. He was buried at Voortrekkerhoogte Cemetery.
He was survived by his wife Ester, whom he had married in Holy Trinity Church, and two
daughters (Denise and Brenda), both minors. They lived at “Rockleigh”, 198 Main Road,
Kalk Bay.
