Trafalgar Rocklands South westerly While trying to enter Table Bay at night the vessel was 1839/02/21
Bay point of bay becalmed near Three Anchor Bay and drifted onto the
rocks. She missed her stays and let go of her anchor. The
anchor was dragged due to the current and swell. The
vessel went ashore, crew and passengers were saved.
One woman killed by a falling mast. 4 March 1839 at
11:00. Sold on beach near Three Anchor Bay cargo and
wreck of Trafalgar that was washed up and recovered.
Includes blankets, chintz, cloth, wine, beer, planks,
beams, masts, spars, sails, cordage and firewood.
Watussi Cape Point Off (60 miles / 96 Fired and scuttled to avoid capture by the Allies while 1939/12/02
km south of) trying to round the Cape during World War II. Was wearing
the colours of the Union-Castle Line at the time. See "War
