Arthur Cecil Middlemost 75113 v

Arthur Middlemost was the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Middlemost who in the
1930s lived at “Barnwood”, 20 Sandhurst Road, St James. He was at Bishops from 1929 -
36 where he excelled at athletics. After leaving school he joined a motor firm, and then at
the outbreak of war he joined the Duke of Edinburgh's Own Rifles and served in Abyssinia
and Somaliland. During this time he contracted dysentery and later cerebral malaria from
which he died on 16 June 1941. He was buried at sea en route to Egypt.
He was unmarried and was survived by his parents, brother and sister of Kenilworth.
